If you are experiencing behavior problems with your Ragdoll cat, there are a few things that you can do to correct them, depending on what they are of course. Using physical force such as spanking or swatting at our Ragdoll cat will only make them afraid of you, and it’s very cruel.

If you are having problems with them urinating in the house it could be due to the placement of the litter box, the type of litter or maybe they are in some sort of pain and they need to be taken to the vet. If they are being aggressive, you can work with them on that whether it be with you or another cat in the house. If you have a Siamese, they also have some of the same behavior problems as Ragdolls. Once they become too aggressive you can use something to make a loud noise to take their attention away as you say a firm “no!” and if you keep doing this, they will know what that noise means and to stop what they are doing. You could also use a little spray bottle and tell them no at the same time… we all know how much cats like water! And this doesn’t mean squirt them a bunch of times in the face, just a simple spray so they can feel the water and get them to stop what they are doing.

If you are having more serious issues with your Ragdoll cat, I would suggest taking him or her into a vet so you can get down to the bottom of the problem then everyone can be happy.

I started feeding my cats Solid Gold about a year ago and they love it. I feed them the Katz-n-Flocken which is a lamb formula. A few things I really like about this food more so than others I have fed them in the past is that it’s a hollistic all natural food and it doesn’t have any sort of chemicals or preservatives in it.

The first thing to look for when reading the label is the first ingredient listed. It should always be the meat or protein that is in the food. The first thing listed on this food label is lamb and chicken meal. Solid Gold doesn’t have a bunch of fillers in it so your cats don’t need to eat as much of it to get their nutrients so it lasts longer. One cup of this food has about 323 calories in it. The two formulas available on the market are the Katz-n-Flocken and the Indigo Moon. Neither of these foods contain any soy, corn, wheat or saturated fats.

Solid Gold may be a bit more expensive than other brands at the store but it’s good for your cat and that’s the most important thing. Not to mention they absolutely love it!

Ragdoll cats are exclusivley indoor pets. Like all cats, they face many more dangers in the outside world but Ragdolls don’t have the same knowledge and smarts like many others do. When it comes to cat health, it’s always a good idea to learn all that you can so you know what to look for and when to take your cat in if something isn’t right. Letting your cat outside can make them more susceptible to these few diseases which can potentially be deadly: Distemper, Feline Leukimia and different kinds of respritory infections.

The Ragdoll is a fairly big breed. They require a bit more grooming than other breeds for this reason and they have a long silky coat that needs to be brushed often. Ragdoll cats can weigh anywhere from 20 to 30lbs. Even though these cats are an indoor breed, it doesn’t mean they can’t get fleas. You can track them into the house yourself! There are many different preventitive treatments out there, just ask your vet which one is the best for your cat.

Make sure that you keep their litter box clean at all times and fill it with a healthy litter that’s not scented (cats usually don’t like scented litter) and doesn’t have chemicals in it that can cause a UTI ( urinary tract infection). Taking your cat in for regular check-ups can also prevent them from having any other health problems.

There are hundreds of cat breeds out there in the world today. If you are looking for a cat and don’t know what kind you want, do some research. There are cats that become the size of small dogs when full grown like the Chausie, Norwegian Forest Cat or Maine Coon and there is a cat breed called the Munchkin which are really small and low to the ground. Then there is everything in between.

Domestic cat breeds are very popluar but that is still a very wide range of characteristics, temperament and physical apperance. Then you’ve got the Exotic Breed, Bobtails, Ragdolls, Siamese, Bombays, Bengals and the list goes on and on.

Cats are beautiful and graceful creatures that make wonderful companions and no matter what breed, we are lucky to have them.

Some important things to consider if you want to keep your cat healthy and living for a long time are the foods you feed your cat and the amount of attention you dedicate to your cats. Another easy way to keep your cat healthy and happy is to play with your cats and if they are indoor/outdoor cats make sure they get to go outside when nature calls.

Kittens are so easy to take care of when they’re small like these little cats above. But when cats get older, cat care becomes more complex as your pet might take on worms, flees, an abrasion, stomach problems or even cat cancer.
